An abbreviation is a shortened form of a word or phrase with a full stop at the end. For example, Ann. is the abbreviation for Annual. Test your spelling by writing the full month names for the abbreviations shown.

Did you notice that only 9 of the months are abbreviated above? We don’t abbreviate May, June or July because they are short words already!
